Here Comes Santa Street Lighting at the Historic Courthouse
November 24, 2017  

Kick off the season with Christmas songs, shopping and a countdown as Santa arrives to light up Downtown. Free visits with Santa and carriage rides after the lights are on will end by 8:00.

Christmas Parade
December 2, 2017
Main Street / Five Points-Caswell St.

A traditional hometown Christmas parade travels along Main Street from Five Points to Caswell Street. The parade is sponsored by the Hendersonville Merchants & Business Association. Call (828) 692-4179 or 828-595-0901.

All Aboard!
Join the Apple Valley Railroad Club for a special Polar Express Story Party at the Historic Hendersonville Depot following the Christmas parade in downtown. Polar Expres will be read at approximately 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. Space is limited to 40 per reading and will last 15-20 minutes per reading.. Santa, free hot chocolate and goodies will also be available. All ages are welcomed

Carriage Rides
December 9, 16, 23, 30 & 31

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays from a horse drawn carriage ride. Take a magical ride through Historic Downtown Hendersonville among its twinkling lights and festive decorations. The serpentine street adds to the leisurely pace of the horse to slow down and savor the moment.

Iceless Skating Rink
December 19 – January 1

Again this year the iceless rink will be located at the Visitor Center on South Main Street. Skating offers endless family-friendly fun.The synthetic ice skating rink is made from special polymers so it can be enjoyed year-round in any temperature.

Tails in Town

Tails is Town is a brand new event that is the result of a partnership between WTZQ’s well-loved Barq in the Parq and Downtown Hendersonville, whose event production background includes the Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk, the Rhythm & Brews Concert Series and the annual downtown Street Lighting Event among others. These two organizations have brought their Considerable talents together to create an event where pets of all kinds and their people can share some quality time together and give back to the local organizations that contribute to our community’s animal welfare.

Come wander the Local Market and enjoy the variety of vendor or refresh at the cider tent. Choose from a selection of handcrafted specialty foods being produced, grown or created by neighbors and friends. Organic vegetables, meats, dairy and other delectable goodies and unique products created with materials from the land. Enjoy gift shopping knowing that you’re supporting small local producers and artisans. It’s all local and it’s all here at the Depot!

As folks have done for years at the Depot, you might be lucky enough to hear some local stories or connect with the personalities that bring us farm fresh, one of a kind products. It’s a place you’ll find not just fresh produce and natural products, but also the stories of the people who make them and the things that inspire them.

Chalk It Up began with 3 children drawing in front of their mother's store. It has blossomed into a beloved and endearing events that has lasted for over 20 years. It is a unique way to experience beautiful downtown Hendersonville, N.C.

North Carolina Apple Festival

The North Carolina Apple Festival is held annually over Labor Day Weekend in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  It has been Western North Carolina’s Premier Family Festival for over 60 years.  Enjoy 4 days of fun including one of the most best known Street Fairs in the Carolinas with freshly picked apples, arts & crafts, festival food, and free entertainment at the Historic Courthouse on Hendersonville’s beautiful Main Street.

Art On Main

The Arts Council of Henderson County presents the Art on Main Fine Art / Fine Craft festival on September 29 & 30, 2018.  Stroll Historic Downtown Hendersonville, NC, and shop for fine art and fine craft by artists from Henderson County and the Southeastern region of the U.S.. Media includes work in clay, metal, glass, fiber, wood, painting, photography, jewelry, etc. Art on Main also features live art demonstrations.
